Foothold recognises that learning is central to improving the quality of life for all citizens. Foothold has been serving Carmarthenshire and its communities since the 1980’s, during which time it has created a foundation of expertise in community development and regeneration that is second to none.

The Foothold Group began its life by providing start-up workshop space for young entrepreneurs and business training. This grew into a business that now delivers upwards of 200 training sessions a year at its centre in Stebonheath and in the community where people are. Learning is built into all of the outreach and development activities of the the organisation.

Today, the learning provided by the Foothold Group through all its projects and activities, reaches people from the business world to schools, to social enterprises to community groups and people disadvantaged by their circumstances.

The learning on offer ranges from basic skills through to business start-up advice, business planning, social development, healthy living, capacity building and also active citizenship.

These training activities are delivered by experienced and highly motivated staff from a wide range of backgrounds including commercial, public, private and voluntary sectors.
